Vintage Dress Wearing: Vintage dress, Zara shoes, Shop Machete Earrings

There was a time when I went crazy collecting dresses like this, thanks to the influence of vintage queen, Becca Wright. Lately though, I’ve been finding myself constantly reaching for my more understated, versatile pieces. My old tees were the only vintage pieces ever seeing daylight. However, I revisited this dress a few weeks ago when I was cleaning out my closet, and fell in love all over again! This bright pink, perfectly 60’s print is irresistible. There is something about a dress like this that takes you back in time. It makes me feel like a secretary at Sterling Cooper. Please, someone pour this girl a bourbon.

There’s nothing easier to throw on than a printed, flowy, short babydoll dress. I wear this bohemian one frequently with slides to run errands or with booties to grab a quick drink. The other day for a quick night out, I wanted to give the dress a more dramatic effect so I paired it with these over the knee boots by Tony Bianco. I love these boots so much but I think I am going to need a more versatile pair soon! The peep toe makes them hard to wear during colder months and the leather lining makes them SO HOT during the summer. I usually wear them during that sweet spot when the weather is mild.

I remember lusting after over the knee boots when Rodarte first debuted a pair in the A/W 2009 show. Around that time, I had such a hard time finding an affordable pair! Now there are so many more budget-friendly options and you can find them all over. Think I may need a few colors!

Is there anyone who doesn’t love the occasional all-black ensemble? It is one of the few times that I love to pile on the gold jewelry. It is such a classic combination that looks chic but is easy to put together. I found this vintage Pendleton blazer while thrifting a few months ago ($3 holla!) and its been on repeat in my rotation ever since. I like to call it my “party blazer” becuase I wear it out a lot haha.

Our new couch is being delivered today! I think it is going to be bigger than I imagined, and I’m hoping it doesn’t look too oversized compared to our other furniture. Ready for it to get here though, I want to lounge for the rest of the day!

I just love this picture of boyf low-key making fun of me. It is so funny!

Shopping Guide, Style

gingham fever

Wearing: Vintage Disney tee, Zara skirt, shoes and bag, Vintage rings

Gingham everything. All the time. In every color. It is everywhere, have you noticed?

It is truly no longer solely used for picnic blankets and Southern Living editorials, and I have to say, I’m jumped in with both feet on this trend. I love when it has the preppiness taken out of it, or is balanced with edgier or bohemian pieces. I can count at least 5 gingham items in my closet and a handful of abandoned online shopping carts full of gingham too.

Here are some other (mostly) low-cost gingham things I’ve been eyeing. I missed the window on this one and am kicking myself about it! (Spoiler alert: ASOS is basically gingham Mecca.)

Reformation Tropicana One Piece
Clayton Gingham Top
ASOS Jumpsuit
ASOS Beach Shorts
ASOS Tie Back Maxi
Madewell Central Shirt

Enjoy!

Beetlejuice, anyone? Zara’s December look book features a lot of boyish, basic pieces ornamented with bold prints and glitz. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued by that full head to toe plaid number. Definitely something I’d like to try this winter.
