This blog might as well be called Almost Madewell, because I almost own everything from Madewell. When I saw this shirt, I knew I had to have it! It has that vaguely vintage vibe that I love. I think it is because it reminds me of that paper from elementary school that you practiced upper and lower case letters on. You know, this one?

I accompanied this Americana inspired look it with what I like to call the “Denim Daddy” combination. It’s the new and improved Canadian tuxedo. The trick is to choose two different washes of denim to avoid a JT & Britney jean situation. Though, you know, there is a time and place for everything.

Side note – I recently found an old denim Louis Vuitton bag from the early 2000’s in the back of my closet. I am thinking of breathing some life back into it with some DIY of-the-moment embroidery. It might help. It might not though, it’s pretty dated. Will keep you updated!

You will find no shortage of shorts + heels combination here. It is a favorite of mine for summer! Get used to seeing these One Teaspoon shorts, too. I have never found a pair as perfect as these. And while I typically prefer a high rise element to my denim, these have that perfect mid-rise slouch that is essential for an effortless front-tuck situation. They’re very “festival season” but are easy to tone down too. I’ve been playing with the idea of investing in a less distressed version as well. You can never have enough denim shorts, right?
