On the eternal quest for the quintessential simple outfit, this sweater tank makes its case. Simple. Easy. Out the door.
Not to mention dirt cheap, as is usually the case with Forever 21. Truthfully, F21 has fallen off my list of places to shop as I’ve gotten older. It is just so overwhelming in there! And way too much trash to dig through before you find a good piece. BUT every once in a while you find a gem. I am hoping this side tie sweater tank stands the test of time, because I just adore it! However, I don’t have a whole lot of faith that it will outlast a few washes. Oh well, whatcha gonna do.
Wearing:Madewell high riser skinny perfect jeans, Madewell central shirt (also featured here), Zara shoes, Celine sunglasses
I had never had a pair of great fitting jeans until about 3 years ago. It was so hard for me to find an affordable pair that fit correctly, and the ones that did were way out of my budget. Instead, I would buy jeans from places like Buffalo Exchange or Wasteland that were good enough. There was usually something just a little off – the rise, the wash, the stretch.
Enter Madewell. My holy Mecca of denim. The first time I shopped there, I tried on a pair of the high riser skinny cut, bought them and wore them out of the store. I bought two more pairs the next week. They just get it. Since then, I’ve been 100% loyal to Madewell jeans, which you may have already figured out. I’ve thought about trying out Re/Done or Grlfrnd jeans but it’s almost like, what’s the point. I just feel great in Madewell. They are my perfect jeans.
Last season, they released this pair of button fly skinnies in a light wash, but they were too similar to a pair I already owned to justify the purchase. To my delight, the re-released the silhouette in this classic blue denim. They’ve already claimed their place as a staple in my denim collection. So comfortable and versatile!
Wearing: Free People Ruffle Tube, Madewell High Riser Skinny Jeans, Cape Robin Flat Mules, Celine sunglasses
It should come as no surprise that flat mules are my favorite footwear as of late. I have worn them in quite a few posts, like here and here. This pair by Matisse is my everyday go-to pair. They are SO comfortable. I actually wore the first pair out and had to toss them. When we were in Hawaii earlier this year, Rob said they weren’t coming back with us because they were so worn. And by worn, I mean they were starting to smell. I know it is gross but we were like cracking up about it.
There’s been a few on my radar that I have yet to pull the trigger on, like this tropical pair by Schultz. They are so fun for summer! I should probably get them soon or I am going to miss my window. Though the pink ones are a bit more wallet friendly. *Insert thinking face emjoi here* Which ones are you favorite?
I have to say, in all the busy-ness that is my world right now, there is something to be said about the simplicity of a jumpsuit. One and done and out-the-door. It is one chic outfit rolled into one. Seriously, it can’t be beat!
This one is from Madewell (shocker) and fell in love with it the second I tried it on! Usually, I am not one for exposed décolletages, but in this, it just felt right. I also recently purchased a chambray wide leg version from one of my favorite locals stores, and I am just dying to find the right occasion for its debut. I mean, is there a wrong occasion for a jumpsuit?

Gingham everything. All the time. In every color. It is everywhere, have you noticed?
It is truly no longer solely used for picnic blankets and Southern Living editorials, and I have to say, I’m jumped in with both feet on this trend. I love when it has the preppiness taken out of it, or is balanced with edgier or bohemian pieces. I can count at least 5 gingham items in my closet and a handful of abandoned online shopping carts full of gingham too.
Here are some other (mostly) low-cost gingham things I’ve been eyeing. I missed the window on this one and am kicking myself about it! (Spoiler alert: ASOS is basically gingham Mecca.)
