Mismatched Gingham Skirt

Wearing: T by Alexander Wang, Zara skirt, Madewell scarf and boots, Celine sunglasses

When you have navy, black and brown as well as stripes and gingham all in the same outfit, you might be mismatched. But is that so wrong? Sometimes when I am struggling to put together a look, I’ll grab two things that don’t seem compatible. And when it works, it works! Truly, this skirt just goes with everything. It is definitely one of my favorite buys from 2016!

The long weekend is finally here and we’re headed to Marfa! We’re stopping in Monahans TX to check out the sand dunes, hitting the Balmorhea State Park pool, then arriving in Marfa for some food and art. I don’t drive much in my day-to-day life. One of my jobs is on my street so I just walk (rare for Fort Worth!) and I work from home for the other. Because of this, I plan to catch up on my audiobooks and podcasts on the long drive. I couldn’t be more excited to finish the Handmaid’s Tale and get started on the show! Has anyone checked it out yet?

Let me know in the comments if you have any must-sees or must-dos while in Marfa! Any recommendations are appreciated.

Wearing: Madewell shirt, One Teaspoon shorts, Zara mules (similar here), Alexander Wang bag (similar here), Madewell scarf (similar here), Vintage rings and necklace

You will find no shortage of shorts + heels combination here. It is a favorite of mine for summer! Get used to seeing these One Teaspoon shorts, too. I have never found a pair as perfect as these. And while I typically prefer a high rise element to my denim, these have that perfect mid-rise slouch that is essential for an effortless front-tuck situation. They’re very “festival season” but are easy to tone down too. I’ve been playing with the idea of investing in a less distressed version as well. You can never have enough denim shorts, right?

Wearing: Thrifted jumpsuit, Dolce Vita booties, Alexander Wang bag

It’s the best time of year in Texas. It is finally warming up, but not so hot that it is too miserable to be outside. Patio drinking weather! I found this colorful polka dot number at a second-hand store yesterday and a new silver ring (middle) at Dolly Python in Dallas that I was able to trade some old vintage dresses for. I wanted to take them out for a beer, so we did just that.

Since Nicholas Ghesquiere recently left his post at Balenciaga, rumors have been flying as to who will be his successor. The rumors about Christopher Kane were quickly put to rest, but now supposedly, Alexander Wang is the new front runner, although neither the designer or the fashion house have been reached to confirm or deny.
